Replacement Values

The ISN template system, which includes email and calendar templates, allows for inserting values pertaining to inspection orders and all associated parties. In addition to the values listed here, you can use your Order Form Fields as replacement values as well. To use an Order Form Field, just head over to your Office Settings -> Fields and Controls and click on the section where your controls of interest are located. You will see a column containing the replacement value for each control.

We’ll work to keep this post up to date as we add more replacement values.

Working With Broadview Home Security

The Inspection Support Network makes it easy to send your referrals to Broadview Home Security.
Once you are ready to begin using this feature simply turn it on. To do this go to Settings – Office Settings – Working with Other Applications and click on the tab for Broadview Home Security and check the box to begin using the Broadview Home Security Add On.
When you return to the inspection grid or dashboard (Inspections – View Inspections), you will see a new icon has been added, a blue shield. If you hold your computer mouse over the blue shield you will note it says “Set this Inspection to send Broadview the Information (this will not send the information now)”.
Clicking this blue shield turns the shield green and prepares the information to be sent but WILL NOT send the information until you are ready to send it. Note, holding your mouse over the green shield will tell you “This Inspection is ready to send to Broadview…when ready click Tools and then Broadview”.
By going to Tools – Send Info to Broadview Home Security, you will see the inspections ready to be sent along with a copy of the inspection report. Here you can review or edit any last minute information or delete entirely before you push the button to send the information to Broadview.
Once you click the tab with the red shield “Send the inspection information to Broadview Home Security“, the green shield icon on the inspection grid will now be red and read “Broadview Information Already Sent for this Inspection”.
Coming soon the Inspection Support Network will also be able to track your Broadview referrals and be able to supply you with a detailed report of what inspections have been sent and when, which ones have been paid for and which ones are still outstanding.
The Inspection Support Network‘s team always strives to provide its users with the best tools available for running their businesses.

How to Perform a Disk Defrag in Windows XP
Written by RJ McCollam on March 30, 2010

Defragmenter gathers files together and groups them to take advantage of that extra space. Follow these simple steps to perform a disk defrag in Windows XP.
- Click Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, and then select Disk Defragmenter.
- Click on Defragment to start the process. (You can select Analyze first and that will show you the changes that will be made, but this is not necessary)

That’s all there is to it. This process will take a decent amount of time depending on how full your hard drive is, but you can run it in the background and go about your day while it is running.
How To Manually Clean Out The Temp Folder In Windows XP
Written by RJ McCollam on March 29, 2010
Posted in: Tips and Tricks · 1 Comment
Removing temporary files is a quick and easy task that can help save disk space and keep your PC clean of file clutter. There are multiple ways of doing this and we will be showing you two of them. Simply follow the directions below to manually clean out the Temp folder:
Version 1
- Click Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, and then select Disk Cleanup.

- Check the box labeled Temporary Files and press OK.
- Click Yes in the dialog box the opens up, confirming you want to perform this action.
- The Disk Cleaner will run, and then disappear when completed.
Version 2
- Click on Start and then Run.

- In the text box in the Run window, type %Temp% and click OK. A folder full of files and other folders will appear.

- All of the folders and files you see in this Temp folder are no longer being used by Windows XP and can safely be deleted.
To remove individual folders or files, hold down your Ctrl key while left-clicking on each item you want delete. Release the Ctrl key when you’re finished.
To delete these items, hit your Delete key or choose File and then Delete from the menu.
Confirm that you want to delete the files by clicking Yes on the Confirm Multiple File Delete window that opens.
If you’d instead like to remove everything inside the Temp folder, choose Edit and then Select All from the menu.
Note: If you’re prompted that there are hidden files in this folder, just click on OK to bypass the message. A few hidden files hanging out in the Temp folder probably aren’t important enough to worry about.
Now that all of the files and folders are selected, hit your Delete key or choose File and then Delete from the menu.
Confirm that you want to delete the files by clicking Yes on the Confirm Multiple File Delete window that opens.
- After all of the files have been deleted you can close the window and empty your Recycle Bin, permanently removing the files from your PC.
